Transplanting Details
This week, I assisted with the transplanting and vigor data of each variety. First, soil was placed in each clean pot, then watered. Each plant was gently uprooted and measured before planting in the pot.
Disease & Pest Observations
While transplanting, we’ve noticed some abnormal growth patterns such as uneven or mutated growth, leaf damage, and discoloration. Specifically, aphids and their exoskeleton sheddings have been found on several plants that also exhibit abnormal growth or leaf damage. Also, silvery leaf spots which likely indicates thrip damage.
Meeting with our faculty sponsors has helped us in determining the details of these abnormalities.
Contextualizing the Greenhouse Germination Study
I’ve also begun piecing together sections of the greenhouse germination study. I’ve written a method section as well a entered our group data and results.
