A long-beloved interest of mine as someone belonging to multiple diasporas &amp; a multicultural background has been how food &amp; culture intermingle, through this project I seek to research &amp; reflect on how food acts as a tether to home countries &amp; cultural pasts for diaspora groups, specifically those living in the U.S. Along with my own family history, I will be utilizing texts such as <em>What We Hunger For: Refugee and Immigrant Stories about Food and Family<\/em> edited by Sun Yung Shin and <em>Tastes Like War<\/em> by Grace M. Cho, as well as my column, also titled <em>Feeding the Diaspora<\/em>, in The Evergreen State College&#8217;s student newspaper <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cooperpointjournal.com\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cooperpointjournal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Cooper Point Journal<\/a><\/strong> to explore the intersections of food, family, and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Defining &#8216;Diaspora&#8217;; a diaspora is formed when people belonging to a cultural and\/or ethnic group are living in a place that is not their or their ancestor&#8217;s country of origin.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;We sit here in silence, eating our lunch.
