This is a site created to showcase the hard work that my peers and I have put into creating a Food Memoir. Our memoirs are meant to encapsulate the foods, tastes, and eating habits of our ancestors, families, and selves. To do this, students reflected on their own lives, reached out to family members, and some even did DNA testing in order to access the pasts that had been forgotten or lost. We also kept tasting notebooks, and reflected on the different types of cuisines we tasted throughout the quarter. In winter quarter\u2019s memoirs, we looked backwards in time to our ancestors and genetic origins, we foraged for dishes passed and discovered reasons for the way we are\/eat today. In spring quarter\u2019s memoirs, we discuss the live-time hardships and creativeness required to eat well and stay well in the uncertain times of COVID-19. Each page contains the eating pasts and presents of each student, and the hard work, both mental and emotional, that it took to create this type of document.
