Narrative: During winter quarter, the student will read Richard Powers’ The Overstory<\/em> and write an additional chapter based on their relationship with the cocoa tree, drawing upon experience from studying abroad in Jamaica. “There is a world alongside ours – vast, slow, interconnected, resourceful, magnificently inventive, and almost invisible to us.
